How to install NoddedOn

About a minute on an Android phone. Android shows a couple of safety screens for any app installed outside the Play Store — here's exactly what to tap on each.

Is it safe? Yes. NoddedOn is the same app that's on Google Play — everything we make goes through Google Play. Our website just releases it a little earlier than Google's review takes. The caution appears only because Google hasn't scanned this exact copy enough times yet; it goes away as more people install it, and briefly comes back after each update. Nothing is wrong with the app.

Download NoddedOn

  1. Tap Download

    Tap Download NoddedOn above. The file (noddedon.apk) saves to your phone.

  2. Open the file — choose “Package installer”

    Tap the downloaded file (pull down the notification bar, or open Files → Downloads). If a “Open with” box appears, choose Package installer — the app installer. Don't pick WPS Office or anything else.

  3. Allow installs from your browser (if asked)

    Android may say installs from this source aren't allowed yet. Tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, then press back.

  4. The Play Protect screen — tap “More details” first

    Google shows a blue shield: “App blocked to protect your device.” The button you want is hidden — tap More details to reveal it, then tap Install anyway.

    Do NOT tap the big blue “OK” — that cancels the install.

  5. Let it scan (if asked)

    Play Protect may offer to scan the app. Let it — tap Scan app (or Send to Google) and wait a moment. It confirms the app is OK and continues.

  6. Install

    Tap Install. When it finishes, tap Open.

  7. You're in

    Open NoddedOn and create your @handle. To become a member, add a £2 voucher (Membership → Enter voucher).
